While some pyramid schemes are indeed unlawful, most real MLMs are legitimate companies providing high demand products and services.

What is Multi Level Marketing?
There are two ways for you to earn profit from multi level marketing.
1) you can sell products. These products are either exclusively sold by the multi level marketing company or sold cheaper than anywhere else. These are valid
advantages.
2) You can recruit other people to act as distributors or salespeople. When find an interested party to sign up, you receive a commission. The people you’re recruiting
will then become your down line. Every time they recruit other people, they become part of your down line and you earn a percentage of that money from them as well.
When these people sell products or services, you’ll earn money from them once more. And so on...
Sounds good, right? What's the catch? There’s a fine line that separates legitimate multi level marketing companies from illegitimate ones. One very visible
difference, however, is the way they earn profit. If the main objective of the multi level marketing company seems to be recruiting people alone, that’s not a good
sign at all.
You need to find a company who has both of the above components. A company needs to deliver a better or cheaper product or service and you need to benefit from other people's hard work.
So many people are looking for a viable MLM. Why? There are many reasons. If you can find a legitimate MLM company, you can enjoy numerous advantages.
The main advantage is flexible time. Obviously everyone wants to work when you want to and as long as you wish only. Multi level marketing companies won’t fire you if you don’t feel like recruiting people or selling products for months. In this type of business, you’re definitely your own boss. This would appeal to parents with
small children at home and retired couples needing to make extra income.
Also, you have tax Advantages. Since having a multi level marketing job and working for yourself comes with irregular hours, there are certain tax benefits that come along with that, as opposed to being an employee.
Your MLM experience usually comes with a minimal Investment. Most multi level marketing companies will ask you to pay a small amount of money as your investment. In the end, your biggest investment will be your effort and time. Again that's flexible.
It’s very easy to get started on a multi level marketing business. Usually MLM businesses are great for a short period of time and stumble only to fail. Then the MLM business owner proceeds to another opportunity. The trick is longevity. You need to be patient and responsible. Then you should see success!
